Norwex is standardizing the business cards their consultants use. I think this is the style I'm going to go with. Please let me know if I should change any of the wording. I can only change the black text, everything else is part of the template. The only text field I am not using in this image is directly beneath "Independent Sales Consultant"
Oh man the testimonials wouldn't stop.....I just cleaned my car with the enviro cloth-wow!I used the descaler on my shower doors & gross glass cup full of hard water & they are both still clean & this was a week ago!!!!! I will have a party soon to show people how these things work! I don't know if you remember but I had spilled olive oil all over my window- yep that cleaned up with the enviro cloth then window cloth!!!I am excited about getting more products now!!!! The best thing to do with your unwanted chemicals, after learning about Norwex, is to get rid of them. If you truly understand the effects of the chemicals, I believe that you should not try to give the chemicals to someone else. Not even to a non-profit. That non-profit would be better off learning how to clean with microfiber than to save a few dollars on donated chemicals. And you certainly should not empty them into your sink. Those chemicals will find their way back into our water supply and eventually into our bodies.
I understand that you spent money on those chemicals. But you need to ask yourself what is of more value: your money or your life? I think most people agree you should value your life above money. So do yourself a favor and take your chemicals to a Household Hazardous Waste Facility. In the Twin Cities, if you live in any of these counties, you can pack up your chemicals and drive them to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Anoka: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties. They will take the chemicals at no charge. See their website for more details. There are many drop-off sites around the metro, and around the whole country. To find one in your area, go to Google and search for: Household Hazardous Waste Disposal with the name of your city and state after it. I have done a lot of things in my short life. Recently I have felt like there could not possibly be any way to squeeze any more into my life. I was bursting at the seams. I have volunteered for Wishes & More for three years come this September! That is longer than I've held any paying job in my life :) I started volunteering because I had quit a very draining engineering job with a boss who struggled with integrity. He showed very little respect for his employees and I never felt he trusted me with the position he hired me to do. I told myself when I quit that job that I would NEVER work for someone who didn't understand my job again. They didn't have to know how to do it, but they needed to have a clear understanding & respect of my role in their business.
I only worked there for nine months, but those months changed the rest of my life. When I quit that job, I didn't have anything with a purpose to do during the day. Engineering was the last thing that interested me at the time, so I started looking online for an organization I could volunteer for and use my talents in order to make that organization soar. Low and behold, the organization that was founded by my realtor (who I now consider family), Wishes & More looked like they needed help from someone like me. And I've been helping them soar ever since September of 2008, a month after I quit my engineering job. After one year of volunteering for Wishes & More, I had a baby. He is almost two years old now and his name is Mason. I remember being reluctant to let Wishes & More know I would still volunteer, not knowing how I would be able to handle being in the office with a baby. Well a month or so went past, and I was back in the office volunteering a couple times a week with Mason strapped to my chest in a Moby Wrap. When I was pregnant with Mason, the association I lived in asked me to sit on their board. I wore the Secretary hat for two years but played the role of President. What a mess! Now I wear the President hat and play the role of President. At both Wishes & More and my association board, I am just filling a need. I want to be more than a need filler. Filling needs takes up a lot of my time. And what am I gaining from it? Do I need to gain anything from filling other peoples' needs? No. But do I need to have a life of my own? Yes. And when I found myself constantly filling other peoples' needs I had no time for a life of my own. On April 28, 2011, my second son, Wesley, was born. The days leading up to his birth I was letting both Wishes & More and the board know that I was starting to turn myself off from the rest of the world in order to prepare my mind for the birth of my baby. I was SO busy with everything, I barely took the time to realize I was pregnant. I didn't relish in it like I did with my first born. Boy did I LOVE that week or so before Wesley's birth. I didn't have anyone counting on me! It was just me and my baby and my family I had to worry about. What a GREAT feeling! I wanted to hold on to that forever. But I knew I couldn't. I needed more than dirty diapers, supper, cleaning and whining kids to take care of. I needed something that was going to give me a life of my own. Then I met my Norwex Team Coordinator, Sandie Cagaoan, at a kids sale at the MN state fairgrounds. I had known about Norwex for five years and was getting more and more curious about being a consultant. When I saw that Norwex table, I couldn't get to it soon enough. I told Sandie I thought I wanted to sell it and she invited me to a team meeting. Once I saw the team of people I could grow with and learned about what Norwex really stands for, I couldn't deny that this opportunity was MEANT for me. I signed up to be a consultant on May 10th, Wesley was 12 days old. But I knew if I didn't do it then, I would just start filling my time with filling the needs of Wishes & More and my board and I would never turn back and do this for myself. The core values of Norwex are Integrity, Trust and Respect. And a natural derivative of those core values is Honesty. These values reflect the complete OPPOSITE of my experience at my last engineering job. On top of that, I get to share with people how they can improve the quality of their life! I truly believe that EVERYONE needs to know the harm in using chemicals and how EASY it is to NOT use harmful chemicals! And I am more passionate than ever to present the Norwex opportunity to everyone who is looking for more purpose in their life! I am honored to be invited into peoples' homes in order to share the message of LIFE with as many people as possible! Norwex holds the key to my purpose. It is filling a need, yes, but it has helped give me new life. I've never been more sure about anything in my life, aside from marrying my husband and the life of our two children. God has used Norwex to make me a better person. God bless Norwex! Many of you have heard, and I have also believed, that dryer sheets are the leading cause of dryer fires because of the film they leave on the inside of the dryer. I looked for a credible source to back up this claim and I can't find it. (If you can find it, let me know.) According to this Consumer Reports article, their appliance director says "it's possible that over a long period, fabric sheets, fabric softeners, and laundry detergent ingredients contribute to an unseen film or waxy buildup on the dryer lint screen. But 'it's highly doubtful,' he said, 'that any such invisible buildup alone leads to heating-unit burnout or a fire.'" Even though Consumer Reports makes this claim, they still suggest avoiding the use of "liquid fabric softener on all-cotton clothing made of fleece, terry cloth or velour." In their flammability tests, "liquid fabric softener added to rinse water accelerated the burning speed of these fabrics." This is important to note, especially for those of us with children who should be wearing clothing specifically designed as sleepwear to bed and labeled "flame resistant." And even to us adults, our clothing is supposed to help protect us. If our clothing has a layer of residue on it, specifically from liquid fabric softener, it won't do a very good job at protecting us in the unfortunate event that any of us come into contact with fire. So why not use dryer sheets instead of liquid fabric softener? Dryer sheets still leave an unseen film/waxy buildup on your clothing. That's why they smell like the "Mountain Breeze." This fragrance may be especially irritating to a baby's skin & respiratory system. It is also irritating to adults with sensitive skin or allergies. There are rumors that dryer sheets contain very hazardous ingredients, including chloroform and carcinogens. (Again, I can't find any credible source for these claims, and corporations do a really good job at hiding any ingredients that would raise concern for the general public.) All this said, you can make your own decision on whether or not you want to use fabric softeners. I myself will always err on the side of caution. If you are like me, and no longer wish to use dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener, here is an alternative. First, clean the screen on your dryer (even if you are going to continue using fabric softener, you should do this on a regular basis.) Just run it under hot water and scrub it off until the water runs through it completely, no pooling. This is important to do because the heat escapes your dryer through the lint trap. If the trap is clogged (with lint or an unseen residue) the heat does not escape as efficiently. Cleaning the trap will increase the efficiency and lifespan of your dryer while decreasing the operating cost. You should also clean the lint out of the dryer vent. Second, purchase a set of dryer balls. I had initially bought a cheap pair for about $4. They were round and hard. They made a lot of noise, and my husband continued begging me to buy dryer sheets because his dress pants were sticking to his legs. (It is important to note that the reason there is static in your clothing is because you are drying them for too long.) I stuck my heels in the mud and said I was NOT buying dryer sheets. Instead I purchased the Norwex Dryer Balls. They are made of soft plastic (you can squeeze them) and they are oval instead of round. They don't make much noise because the plastic is not rock hard. The unique oval design of the dryer balls lifts and separates laundry. This reduces drying time, static cling and wrinkles. (The round ones establish a pattern and eventually just spin around with the laundry.) My husband doesn't complain of his dress pants sticking to his legs anymore and we never have to waste money on dryer sheets again! It's a win-win for both of us :) Your Turn: Do you know of any credible resources to get information on the use of fabric softeners and their effect on our health? It's hard to find unbiased information without an agenda attached. Resources: Consumer Reports - Truths & myths of dryer fires Consumer Reports - General child safety tips International Fire Marshals Association - Spring 2001 Newsletter - Page 13 If you have ever attended a home party, in most cases you have played a game where the winner gets a prize. My issue with the game is that it takes up precious time that could be used to answer peoples' questions. My presentation, without questions, is about 30 minutes. But there are ALWAYS questions and the presentation turns into about an hour, without playing a game. It's not a boring hour, it's a conversation. But to ask people to sit for any longer than that, even if it is interesting, is asking a lot, in my opinion. Instead of investing my time & money into games, I add incentives for people to book a party. Anyone who books a party gets 35% - 50% off any item if they pick one of my preferred dates. And as soon as I have sample bottles, they will also receive a gift bucket with samples of odor eliminator, laundry soap, descaler, or anything else I can divide into the bottles. |
