Ask me at any other point in my life if I would ever make money off of selling anything and I would have laughed at you. I can't stand it when people are trying to sell me something that I don't think I need, and in my experience with sales people, that's usually what they are doing. I just never saw myself selling anything, until I went to my first Norwex party five years ago.
I'm a simple person. I don't use fancy things. In fact I recently took five car-loads of stuff to Goodwill because I realized I'm just not a fancy person and I don't need all this fancy stuff. I'm good with simple. That's why home parties usually turn me off. I have a hard time rationalizing spending "that kind of money" on something I could get at Kohl's. Sure, it might not be fancy if I buy it at Kohl's, but like I said, I don't need fancy.
When I went to that Norwex party five years ago, I told my husband Emil that I wouldn't buy anything. HA! When the party started, I was skeptical as usual when approaching a home party. But my curiosity perked when I realized that this product was honestly cleaning with only water. Now if that isn't simple, I don't know how cleaning could ever be simple. Needless to say, I didn't keep my promise to Emil. I bought the Basic Microfiber Package, the Spirisponge and the Spirinetts. (And just for the record, I still use the same microfiber with the same results today!)
It wasn't until a few years later, in 2009, that I was invited to another Norwex party. Then again, just a few months ago, I was invited to two more. After the last party I attended, I decided I needed to let my friends and family know about this revolutionary idea of cleaning with only water. I was going to accomplish that by having a party of course :)
In order to make sure I reached out to as many people as I know as possible, I decided to make a slideshow describing the product. This way I could share it with people who lived too far away to attend a party at my house, which includes ALL of my family. When I finished the slideshow and thought about it for a few weeks, I realized that I might as well just try to sell it myself. After all, I was basically selling it by creating the slideshow.
The problem with me moving forward to sell it myself was finding someone to be my sponsor (leader.) I have a dear friend who just started selling it, but her life has been very chaotic lately and she has taken a break from Norwex. I didn't want to just pull a name from a hat and ask that person to be my sponsor. I wanted to make sure I had a solid leader.
Soon after deciding that I wanted to sell Norwex, Emil and I attended a "Munchkin Market" kid sale at the MN State Fairgrounds. Sandie Cagaoan had a Norwex table set up near the check-out area. I consider myself a very good judge of character, and after speaking with her for only moments, I knew she cared and rocked at what she did. Then she told me her team meets just down the road from where I live and I KNEW this was the start of my Norwex journey.
That brings us to now. Stay tuned to follow me on my journey and learn the latest about Norwex.
